New for 2016, our Media Companies & Creative Agencies Employee Engagement Report looks at industry drivers of engagement. Learning and development, leadership, and impact and honesty are the key factors impacting engagement in this industry.
Another revealing insight is that Media & Creative industries are 4% lower in engagement than those in the New Tech industry. However, people in both groups would recommend their company as a great place to work.
Why do these engagement scores matter? Companies in the top 25% of engagement have an average Mattermark score of 899 compared to the bottom 25% at 315. A major trend that we've seen this year, is companies responding to these types of results with a sense of urgency. Beyond Mattermark, there is evidence that higher engagement leads to faster profit growth, reduced staff turnover, less sick days and more. When companies can understand their engagement and what drives it, they can take action towards a better workplace.
