#CultureFirst: Jessy Collazo

The #CultureFirst series is a chance to showcase the team here at Culture Amp. We asked everyone a few questions which will give you an opportunity to get to know each of us a bit better.

Jessy Collazo - People Geek

With a background in recruiting, Jessy joins us as our first dedicated sales member in New York. A born performer, Jessy started her career at Disney World where she performed a number of different characters including Minnie and Mickey Mouse.

Culture Amp: What can you do as a CAmper (Culture Amp team member) that you haven’t been able to do elsewhere?
Jessy Collazo: I get to work closely with a variety of exciting companies doing big things for culture in the workplace. We have the opportunity to see the results of the data from using our platform being taken into action at first hand. That's so powerful!

CA: Best day you’ve ever had at work?
JC: The best day I have had working at Culture Amp so far was my second day here - attending CxD in NYC! It was invigorating and energizing to be surrounded by People Geeks in the NYC community. The thirst for a community here is evident, so I'm pumped to be a part of the evolution.

CA:What do you geek out about outside of work?
JC: MUSIC. I grew up surrounded by instruments as my dad was a music teacher. I love going to shows.

CA: You pick a magazine up to read – what is it?
JC: Billboard.

CA: What is something about you not many people know about?
JC: I grew up watching the Mickey Mouse Club and wanting to be on it. I didn't make it there, but I DID make it to Disney World as a character for the WDW College Program. #mouseheight

CA: What’s on your playlist this week?
JC: I don't know if it's the change of weather, but my Death Cab for Cutie, Phantogram and Pharrell Pandora stations have been spinning.

CA: Where would you go on an all expense paid trip tomorrow?JC: Iceland. It's prime aurora borealis time. Or Thailand. Because it's beautiful and much warmer.

CA: What does workplace culture mean to you?
JC: Workplace culture is the heartbeat of an organization. Being able to bring your whole self to work with the support to get stuff done and grow both professionally and personally.

CA: What’s on the list for a Netflix night?
JC: It's that time of year - Love Actually!

CA: What was the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
JC: "You can't always control the things that happen in life, but you can choose your attitude. "
