Jessica (Jes) Huang - People Geek
Jes is a Babson College graduate who is drawn to innovation. Her goals for the People Geek community are to equip HR professionals with science-and-research-based tools, nurture business relationships and improve workplace communication. She is a member of FPC of Brooklyn and Habitat Young Professionals Network. Her leisure activities include hiking, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Culture Amp: What can you do as a CAmper that you haven’t been able to do elsewhere?
Jes Huang: Apply organizational psychology to business.
CA: Best day you’ve ever had at work (here or anywhere else)?
JH: February 6, 2011. My first job out of colleague was in operations for Gillette Stadium and one of my responsibilities was running the Designated Driver Program, a NFL-wide program run by TEAM Coalition. My colleagues and I were selected to work at Super Bowl XLV and it was an experience I'll never forget.
CA: What do you geek out about outside from work?
JH: Travel, sports and TV shows.
CA: What did you want to be when you grew up?
JH: When I was in high school, I wanted to become a dentist. I love that smiling builds confidence.
CA: What is something about you not many people know?
JH: That I wanted to become a dentist growing up :)
CA: Where would you go on an all expense paid trip tomorrow?
JH: Australia.
CA: What does culture first mean to you?
JH: Culture First is a mindset. A Culture First environment is where people can be their authentic selves and grow professionally through pursuing a common purpose.
CA: Do you have any startup / culture idols?
JH: Sheryl Sandberg, Kathryn Minshew, Alex Cavoulacos, Payal Kadakia.
CA: If you could have one super power, what would it be?
JH: Flight.
CA: If you could be a lead character in a movie, who would it be?
JH: Rey (Star Wars)
