The #CultureFirst series is a chance to showcase the team here at Culture Amp. We asked everyone seven questions which will give you an opportunity to get to know each of us a bit better.
Cara Conceller - Account Executive / People Geek
The product of a family of fierce entrepreneurs and creatives, Cara has been independently introducing herself to strangers since the age of four. Her affinity for travel and exchange have led her across the globe, exploring the power of human connection, facing our greatest fears, and building community (most often through food). Cara develops authentic relationships, builds trust, and empowers those around her to step into the unknown.
Culture Amp: What can you do as a CAmper (Culture Amp team member) that you haven’t been able to do elsewhere?
Cara Conceller: As a CAmper, I truly feel that my approach and passion to building community and partnerships has found its true match. Culture Amp's approach to community and client development is organic, thoughtful, honest and fun. It is a foundational pillar of what we do and who we are. This alignment enables me to show up daily living in integrity and authenticity in a capacity I haven't been able to do elsewhere.
CA: Best day you’ve ever had at work?
CC: Wow. Best Day Ever? That's a hard one. Since it's fresh, I've got to say my first day at Culture Amp. I know it may sound cheesy, but seriously, it was. It was a day filled with getting situated, moving into a new office, volunteering at one of my favorite SF organizations, and lots of team building and laughing. It felt as if I'd arrived home and found my tribe.
CA: How have you turned a setback into an opportunity?
CC: My general disposition in life is to approach each opportunity as just that: an opportunity. Whether the initial action is an outright grand slam or space to explore growth, you will always find me processing the action, taking ownership, and stepping into how I can continually grow and expand myself.
CA: What are you madly passionate about away from work?
CC: Love letters, travel and snack packs.
CA: What was the best feedback (in your career) you’ve ever received and why?
CC: The best feedback I have received throughout my career is that tenacity, persistence, and staying positive will never go out of style. Those set-backs that are really disguised as opportunities? I shake them off even in the most vulnerable of times, show up with grace and enthusiasm, and keep doing what I do best, which is the art of the relationship.
CA: What’s on your playlist this week?
CC: The Weeknd, Big Grams, Robert Glasper and The Soul Surfers.
CA: What does workplace culture mean to you?
CC: Personally, workplace culture means that I can show up living in true authenticity with who I am (with both with my clients and colleagues) and that these actions align with the mission and values of Culture Amp. It means collaboration, communication and engaging in difficult conversations with radical compassion and honesty. It means respect, hard work and fun.
