#CultureFirst: Holly Bossert

The #CultureFirst series is a chance to showcase the team here at Culture Amp. We asked everyone a few questions which will give you an opportunity to get to know each of us a bit better.

Holly Bossert  - Senior People Geek

I'm originally from PA but currently split my time between Baltimore, NYC, and Boca Raton.  I've spent the last 10 years in engagement with a focus in healthcare.

Culture Amp: What can you do as a CAmper that you haven’t been able to do elsewhere?
Holly Bossert:
I get to work with some really cool companies. I've really enjoyed healthcare but I'm enjoying the opportunity to learn about different industries.

CA: Best day you’ve ever had at work (here or anywhere else)?
HB: I
was sitting in the lobby of a cancer research center waiting for my meeting and I happened to be sitting under the cancer bell. Patients ring this bell when they are declared in remission or cancer free. I was able to witness a patient ring the bell surrounded by all his treatment team. A nurse turned toward me with tears in her eyes and said "I can't believe they actually pay me to work here". That was when I really knew that creating a culture first organization was much more important than I ever realized.

CA: What do you geek out about outside from work?
HB:
Currently I'm growing veggies in pots on my porch and I'm obsessed with making sure everything is perfect (soil, PH level on the leaves, enough bees for pollination, etc). It's a little out of control.

CA: What is something about you not many people know?
HB:
I have a music box collection from when I was a kid. I have over 50 music boxes from all over the world. Currently my mother has them on display at her house.

CA: What’s on your playlist this week?
HB:
Anything I can sing to. You don't want to hear me sing though.

CA: Where would you go on an all expense paid trip tomorrow?
HB:
Bora Bora has always been on my list.

CA: What does culture first mean to you?
HB
: Putting people first within an organization and trusting them to make the right decisions.

CA: What was the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
HB:
"If you can look up you can get up."

CA: You pick a magazine up to read – what is it?
HB:
Garden & Gun (don't laugh. It's really a good read)

CA: What’s up next in your Netflix queue?
HB:
I'm currently working through "Bloodline" but I have yet to get into "Orange is the New Black" so I guess that should be on my list.
